What is Buschball?
Buschball is a new recreational sport - with a long history behind it. Already in 1977 a group of friends played what is nowadays known as the basic version. In their holidays they kicked a ball around since there were not enough players for a proper football match. Then they started trying to hit road signs. Pretty soon this became boring so they chose signs behind trees and bushes as their targets. Buschball was born.
A number of years later the football was taken out less often and especially in big cities it is pretty dangerous to shoot at road signs due to traffic. Hence, this beautiful sport drifted into Vergessenheit until 30 years after the first match Joe heard about it.
He was immediately fascinated and told Martin about Buschball. After they tried it themselves they started to work at the concept of the game. Because of the danger provided by the combination road sign/football the decided to develop a mobile target. The constructed a flag pole, simply known as the "Pole".
In addition they wrote a detailed regulation. During the first year they filled in a few corrections and the formula for the world ranking was adjusted after several practical tests.
The new sport spreaded quickly, since you basically only need a Pole and a football. Also, everybody is able to play Buschball, provided they are able to kick against a football. Physical condition, age and gender are completely irrelevant as history proves. Experienced football players have lost against ladies who at maximum have watched one or two World Cup matches.
So, if you are now interested into Buschball, too, grab a football and come out to play!
