Starting point

The starting point is the spot from which all players have to start a round.

Active and passive

The active player is that participant whose turn it is to hit the Pole. He is active from that moment he puts the ball on the starting point until that moment he either hits the Pole or has reached the kick maximum.

All players who do not correspond to the description above count as passive players.

Pole

The flagpole used as target is called "Pole".

Round

A round starts as soon as a Pole position has been decided. When all players have either hit the Pole or reached the kick maximum the round is completed.

Counter

The person noting the number of kicks is called "counter". Both players as well as non-participants can be the counter.

Disciplines

Open Field

Free playing surface without any obstacles worth mentioning.

Hidden Target

The Pole cannot be seen from the starting point.

Long Distance

The Pole is placed in above average distance from the starting point (at least 70 metres).

Limbo

The Pole does not touch the ground and is e.g. hanging in a fork of a branch (the Pole's height equals the maximum ground clearance).

Trapdoor

Between starting point and Pole is a section that does not allow to play the ball without any difficulties once it is stuck in said section. This may be a ditch or slopes which probably are not perceptible from the starting point.

Age grouping

Players are grouped by their year of birth. This means that players may reach the mentioned age only in the course of the respective year.

0-6 years: bambini

7-13 years: juniors

14 years and older: seniors
